TuffStuff PPL-945 Leg Extension – The Proformance Plus Leg Extension by TuffStuff can help you build large and powerful quadriceps muscles. There are two principle ways to incorporate leg extensions into your leg training. Most commonly, you would begin your routine with a compound lift like squats to work the quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes in unison. Then you would move to leg extensions to isolate the quads. A training partner can easily help with a few assisted reps for a burn that gives you those hard earned striations. Another great way to incorporate the leg extension is by using it to pre-exhaust the quadriceps before moving to squats. Often, the lower back pump is the limiting factor that causes trainees to have to end a set of squats, but the legs are still relatively fresh. By beginning with leg extensions, the legs and low back fatigue at closer to the same rate when squatting, making the lift an even more effective muscle building tool.

There aren’t many moving parts on this simple, low maintenance machine, but two important pop pin adjustments ensure comfort and proper function for users of different heights. The foot roller adjusts up and down, so that users can position it in the optimum position, just above the feet on the lower shins. The back pad adjusts backwards and forwards, so that users can position the forward edge of the seat pad snugly behind the knees. The ergonomic seat angle design supports proper body alignment and muscle isolation, and the stabilizer handles offer support as you bear down to squeeze out those all-important final reps of a grueling set. The 8.5” weight horn means that even after your friends are calling you quadzilla because of your impressive thigh development, you’ll still find this top notch piece of equipment plenty challenging to regularly include in your leg workouts.
